Sriracha most notably known for the hot sauce the town produces with the same name is on the way to Pattaya from Bangkok about half an hour before you get to the beach resort. The port of Laem Chabang is just to the south, which happens to be the 20th largest in the world. Sriracha is the centre of the economic zone for Thailand’s eastern seaboard right behind greater Bangkok.

The coastal town is home to some interesting attractions, like Mini Siam, and the Marine Science Museum. Mini Siam is a miniature city built to a scale of 1 to 25. Visitors can delight in seeing scale models of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Phra Srisanpeth Anatasamakom Throne Hill, the legendary Bridge Over the River Kwai, and the golden Stupa. Burapha University is home to the Marine Science Museum. The museum supports the marine studies program at the University.

Koh Si Chang is an island near Sirracha and is one of the most lovely and undisturbed of all the small islands off the coast. Koh Si Chang is accessible by ferry only, and no cars go. The island is an old-style fishing village and will take you back in time, to a slow pace. Witness locals going about their day in much the same way they would have a century ago. This island escape gives a unique view into Thai culture.
